Stefan Schrade
Stefan Schrade began his PhD at the Rehabilitation Engineering Lab (RELab) in June 2015. His research focuses on the development of assistive devices with variable impedance actuation and is supported by the external page NCCR Robotics.
Stefan was born in Bülach ZH and received his BSc and MSc degrees in mechanical engineering from the ETH in 2012 and 2014, respectively. His education was focused on biomedical and biomechanical topics. In his master thesis he developed an adaptive online gait phase estimator for the knee perturbator.
His research interests are prostheses, exoskeletons, variable impedance actuation, impedance control, robot assisted rehabilitation and gait analysis.
