Medical Engineering Hackathon
The RELab, in collaboration with the Department of Health Sciences and Technology, once again organized the Medical Engineering Hackathon, an intense 1-week block course for the students of the Bachelor in Human Medicine at ETH Zurich!
The goal of this course is to further promote medical student’s skills in structuring a design process, problem-solving, prototyping, design, testing and trouble-shooting of software and hardware in the context of a medical assistive technology. Students worked in groups and learned the basics of CAD drawing, soldering, electronics, control and user evaluation to design and develop a gripper to complement the FLEXO elbow exoskeleton. During the last day, the resulting original and creative solutions were compared during a thrilling competition.
The RELab would like to thank external page mint&pepper, external page Wyss Zurich, CYBATHLON and the Bachelor in Human Medicine team for the support during the course!
