Natalie Tanczak
Natalie Tanczak began her PhD studies at ETH-Zürich in June 2021 as part of the Future Health Technologies (FHT) laboratory, located at the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC).
Her research focuses on the clinical evaluation of assistive technologies through a user-centred design approach. She is particularly interested in developing and improving a wearable robotic hand exoskeleton for post-stroke neurorehabilition.
Originally from Canada, Natalie studied at Queen’s University receiving her BASc (2019) in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Biomechanics. In 2020, she completed her MSc in Biomedical Engineering at The University of Strathclyde. There she developed a novel additive manufacturing technique to create silicone lower limb prosthetic interface liners with customizable mechanical properties.
Her long-term research goals include bridging the gap between high-tech and low-cost assistive technology solutions, particularly in sports.
