Dominik Wyser
Dominik G. Wyser is a Bridge Fellow and PostDoc at the RELab. He is working on the development of a new fNIRS device that is fully wearable, low-cost, and easy to use. His work is based on his Ph.D., where he developed and tested optoHIVE, a cutting-edge fNIRS system based on the sensing technology of Silicon photomultipliers (SiPM). His interests lie in the hardware development for wearable neuroimaging and brain-computer interfaces, focusing on human-centered applications that put the well-being of the user in the focus. His project benefits from a close collaboration with the Biomedical Optics Research Lab at the University Hospital Zurich.
Dominik received his Ph.D. in 2020 and went to industry for 2 years. He brings a broad set of skills from electrical and mechanical engineering, over data processing and software implementation, to neurological and anatomical understanding. He is a trained Mechanical Engineer at ETH Zurich, where he received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in 2012 and 2014, respectively.
