Tim Unger
Tim Unger started his PhD at RELab in cooperation with cefir in June 2022.
The goal of his PhD is to develop and validate mobile, low-cost technologies for upper body motion measurement with a focus on stroke patients.
After spending the first 10 years of his life in Germany, where he was born, Tim lived in different European countries and cities such as Barcelona, Antwerp and Valencia.
After successfully completing his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology), he studied Biomedical Engineering for his Master's degree at TU Berlin, where he also worked as a student research assistant focusing on IMU-assisted rehabilitation. Tim conducted his master's thesis as an exchange student at ETH Zurich at the Laboratory of Biomechanics, where he worked on gait analysis with IMUs.
Being very interested in the human-technology interface, his long-term research goal is to develop user-friendly and cost-effective technologies to facilitate patient assessment and training and to gain better insight into stroke patient rehabilitation.
