Christoph Kanzler
Christoph Matthias Kanzler is a postdoctoral researcher at the Singapore-ETH-Centre and a visiting researcher at the RELab, where he completed his doctoral studies in June 2020.
He works on the technology-based assessment of upper limb function in patients with neurological disorders such as stroke or spinal cord injury. His research interests include motor control and neurorehabilitation as well as biomedical signal analysis, wearable computing and data mining.
Christoph received his B.Sc. (2014) and M.Sc. (2016) degree in Medical Engineering from the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU). During his studies, Christoph focused on biomedical signal processing, wearable computing and machine learning and their application to medical problems. His master thesis was a collaboration between the Digital Sports Group (FAU) and the Motion Analysis Lab at Harvard Medical School and investigated the capabilities of wearable sensors to monitor motor fluctuations in Parkinson’s disease. Before joining the RELab, Christoph had a position as research fellow at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University, where he worked on developing an automated device for the early detection and treatment of anaphylaxis.
