Chi Onn Tang

Tang Chi Onn started his position as a Robotics Engineer in the Future Health Technologies (FHT) programme at the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC) in March 2024. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in 2023, where he specialized in Robotics and Mechatronics.

Chi Onn has always been passionate about using robotics in the medical industry. For his professional internship, he interned at NDR Medical Technology Pte Ltd, a surgical robotics start-up specializing in percutaneous surgery such as tumour biopsy and ablation. Later, he also did his Final Year Project under the Research Rehabilitation Institute of Singapore where he worked on the implementation of dynamic movement primitives (motion planning framework) for a 6 degree-of-freedom robot arm to learn from demonstration for assistive feeding tasks.

His key responsibilities for his current role involve the continuous improvement of the rehabilitative robotics devices at FHT.
