Bianca Badii

Bianca studied at ETH Zürich where she completed her Master of Science in Health Sciences and Technology majoring in Neurosciences in August 2021. She developed a special interest in the translation of scientific findings and technological innovations towards practical applications and especially the development of successful spin-offs based on scientific advances.

After her Master’s she was involved in researching the effects of pupil-based neurofeedback to self-regulate the brain’s arousal system on performance in various sports in the pursuit of developing an application for the startup “myflow by MindMetrix”, an ETH spin-off from the Neural Control of Movement Lab (NCM Lab). She was additionally involved in outreach and networking efforts of the startup.

After, she conducted further basic research on the pupil-based neurofeedback training during her time at the NCM Lab. She has worked with various methods to image neural activity during this time, including EEG and fMRI.

In her current role, Bianca is involved in the optohive fNIRS brain imaging project, helping to translate the technology towards a spin-off. Her various tasks include project planning, outreach and networking activities, and R&D efforts.
