Kaspar Leuenberger

Born in 1982, Kaspar Leuenberger grew up near Basel, Switzerland. He studied Microengineering at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) where he received his B.Sc and M.Sc in 2008 and 2010, respectively. During his studies he mainly focused on robotics and autonomous systems. In his master thesis at the Laboratoire de Systèmes Robotiques (LSRO) at EPFL he developed a pneumatic tactile display to assist surgeons in minimally invasive surgeries. For this work he was awarded with the Logitech Student Prize 2010 as well as the Maillefer Student Prize 2010.

From March 2010 till June 2016 he joined the Rehabilitation Engineering Lab for his PhD studies where he developed low-power miniature data acquisition and feedback modules used for mobility and motion monitoring as well as for interactive computer games in rehabilitation.
