Franziska Ryser
Franziska Ryser began her PhD studies at the Rehabilitation Engineering Laboratory in November 2016. Her research focuses on the application of wearable sensor technology in clinics. In collaboration with University Hospital Zurich, she works on activity monitoring to investigate the role of the circadian system in neurological sleep-wake disorders.
Born in St.Gallen, Switzerland, Franziska studied Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zurich where she received her B.Sc. in 2013. During her master studies, she focused on Robotics and Biomedical Engineering, graduating with a M.Sc. in 2016. For her master thesis, she developed an on-board classification algorithm for the EMG-based control of a wearable hand exoskeleton.
Her research interests include machine learning, biosignal processing, optimization, long-term activity monitoring and neuroscience.
